Bullchef has been featured several times in TV shows and popular publications. It is also praised by my trusted foodie friends. With that being said, we had high expectations and were very eager to try it.
Bullchef is a typical house-turned-restaurant in Kapitolyo, Pasig.
It had a few small square wooden tables with matching wooden chairs. It also had a second floor which was off-limits during our visit.
Bullset Meals (Second Serving of Rice is FREE)
The BULLCHEF Special is the claasic bulalo with corn, string beans and lettuce. We all failed to recognize what made this special. But admittedly, I've heard people claim this as the best bulalo in Metro Manila.
The AsimBULL is a thick sinigang soup with bulalo. This is just okay...
The BULLusok is a sizzling bulalalo covered in gravy and served with buttered corn, beans and carrots. With just one bite into it's tough meat, I could already sense from its flavor that they made use of frozen local beef which I'm not a fan of.
I expected the Tenderloin BULLsteak to be a better rendition but other than the difference was hardly distinguishable.
The Sizzling Pork-a-BULL is the same as the other sizzling with gravy dishes but this time it's pork.
Each meal comes with two cups of rice and a bowlful of bulalo soup broth which is the same as the BULLCHEF special.
Solo
The Kangkong ni Kingkong in a sweet blend of sauce with garlic.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
I wouldn't recommend BULLCHEF to anyone. Despite all its publicity, I'm saddened to say that this is the worst and most disappointing restaurant that we have tried in Kapitolyo. The food quality is poor. It's one of the rare moments were we didn't feel guilty leaving leftovers. The price is unjustifiable. I'd settle for food court options over this anytime.

If I have reviewed airline meals before, then it's only just that I should review cruise meals too. I was so excited for our first Tsinoy Foodies cruise buffet that when I saw Metrodeal selling a voucher for Manila Bay Cruise with a Buffet by Prestige Cruise at a cost of 250 php, we instantly took the bait.
Finding the Prestige Cruises Inc. tent and registering was easy. We got aboard on time with the rest.
I'm always starstruck by the beauty of nature so I really enjoyed the view.
Although there were parts in the cruise where it was just darkness, we were fortunate to cruise during Christmas time so we enjoyed the sights of Christmas lights and fireworks from SM Mall of Asia.

Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Prestige Cruise buffet is not worth trying even if its free. I suggest you skip it and enjoy the cruise doing something else instead. It will also spare you some cash by not availing it.

| First Level |
The Prestige Cruise boat had three levels. We had to pay an extra 100 php each just to be on the top most level but the privacy was what we wanted. Aside from us there were only two other tables there.

Food
Although the buffet table is located at the first level, we along with the two other tables on the top level were called down ahead of others from beneath for the buffet.
So here's what I got...
There were around three viands and a fresh salad. If I could describe them all in one word then it would be... "Bland". It felt like eating hospital food to me. On the other hand, fellow Tsinoy Foodies Kurt, thought it was better than eating at street side canteens.
The soup tastes like it's made from instant mix but a bit diluted.

Our desserts were delivered by our kind server who awe also have to thank for our photographs. It looked familiar doesn't it? It's brownies from Brownies Unlimited (see previous entry).
Our server also provided us with a glass of water which I couldn't drink because it tasted funny. Kurt said it tasted like tap water.
